Helping Your Family Grow

At Escobar & Associates Law Firm, Ltd., we know that adoption is about creating family. As an adoptive parent himself, our founding attorney has personally gone through the adoption process twice. As a lawyer and nonprofit board member for an organization that helps people with adoptions, attorney Christy Brad Escobar has facilitated and advocated for many adoptions in Nevada, and across the U.S.

If you are ready to begin the adoption process, please contact us. We enjoy helping birth parents and adoptive parents take the critical steps in order to provide the best life for their child. Helping Families Adopt For More Than 30 Years

Our law firm has been helping families through the adoption process for more than 30 years. We understand that the birth mother and father are making a selfless decision that will impact their lives and their child's life forever. Though it is a wise decision, it is also a very emotional one.

Attorney Christy Brad Escobar has extensive experience representing both adoptive and biological parents, giving him insight into both points of view. He has worked with all Nevada adoption agencies, including the state of Nevada, and he has facilitated many interstate adoptions via the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC). He also has in-depth knowledge of the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) and has provided legal counsel in adoptions of Native American children.

The Adoption Process

Attorney Escobar sees every adoption through from start to completion. There are two key legal elements included in successful adoptions:

  • Termination of parental rights on the part of the biological parents
  • Obtaining consent for adoption (direct placement to a family) or relinquishment (to a child placement agency)

Stepparent And Family Member Adoptions

Adoptions by stepparent and family members are almost always presumed to be in the best interest of the child. At Escobar & Associates, we can carry out these adoptions expeditiously if all the parties are in agreement. These types of adoptions do not require home studies and judges usually favor keeping the child in the extended biological family.

Adoption is usually a very emotional time for everyone involved. With our experience and background in counseling, the team at Escobar & Associates can bring you through the adoption process with compassion, understanding and legal know-how. Contact us to discuss your adoption needs at 888-339-6061.
